      Probably because they are just bastardized versions of legitimate hunting guns. Also, look at the source. It is Field and Stream, not Tacticool Neckbeard.

                  Clay pigeons tremble in fear at the sight of 4'1" classic steel...

                  I can't decide to leave the patina or clean it up. I actually kind of like it like it is, it gives it character. It was my Great-Uncle Ray's truck gun during the great depression.

                    If you listen to TV shows, you're best to leave it. Personally, I'd do whatever keeps it from being trash at whatever point that makes sense.
