  • My new savage .17 HMR 93FVSS

I have always wanted one of these guns and finally purchased one this weekend. It's really a fun gun to shoot.

    I added a Redfield 3-9x40 scope.

I have also attached my groupings after about 10 rounds of sighting the gun in.

      Thanks

That picture was taken right when I got home and unboxed the gun. It's taken care of.

How much total do you have in it? If you don't mind me asking. I have a guy at work selling one for $350 with a scope. Forgot which brand though. Didn't know if it was a good deal?

The gun alone is $325 and that was because of the stainless steel barrel. The scope was another $160 and the ring were $25.

All in all I have just under $600 in it. $325 sounds like a good deal. What kind of scope is it?

Savage does make a "combo" model that includes the scope. It retails for around $400.

It was at 50 yards for sighting in purposes. I am taking it to the 100 yard range this weekend.

Where will they let you shoot 100 with a rimfire? Not Alpine, right?

                  Garland public shooting range does.

The gun my buddy is selling is a Marlin with a bushenell scope. Also has a trigger job. I wanted a savage but didn't know if this was a better deal?

Nice rifle. They're a blast to shoot.

Bought my wife one for Mother's Day a year or so back. She loves hers.

Less accurate, and the chances of the trigger being worse are pretty good. The marlin is still a good rifle though.

So would it be a good deal for $350? I saw a Savage online for $325ish with a scope. But no trigger.

The savage is a better rifle. It has the accutrigger which is quite nice if it floats your boat.

To me the question is Savage or CZ. Dollar for dollar, you won't touch either of them with anything else.
