Plus, the stock provides more options overall. Hell, I can hold my 870 tactical the same way I'd hold it if it has a pistol grip (the way the stock is...) or up on my shoulder. Being prior Army, my weapons always are on should when fired unless a handgun of course.

Also, I'd think you'd be able to cycle faster with the should stock on it. Just one are movement, done.

My house isn't that big and if I did encounter someone, there might be a max of 15-20 ft between us. At that distance, just pointing the gun in that general direction is sufficient.

Besides, I've fired it with the grip on it. It's not THAT hard to aim with it anyway.
      Fail.

You need a good sight picture at ALL times! You aren't firing a 18th century blunderbuss. Today's buckshot can hold a 9" group at 20 yards.

Unless you plan on gut shooting someone, the best bet in EVERY scenario is to get a good sight picture before pulling the trigger. You sure as hell don't want to miss and endanger family or any other innocents.

Also, with a stock you can maintain backwards pressure on the forend and cycle the subsequent shots faster. If the gun fails, or the assailant charges, you can always butt stroke the perp.

Hogue "Tamer" it looks like. It would look dumb with my 28" barrel, but my buddy has the same gun you have and has been wanting a pistol grip.

Be sure to take a look at the BOT's 12 foot test with 00 Buck. The largest group was 4".

Stock or one of these is what I'd recommend. These weapons feel odd to me and then all the other stuff mentioned. It's really your choice, but a collapsible gives you both..

A compact option is a youth buttstock. I'm not a big fan of the pistol grip, even with a buttstock. I like the factory furniture with a Pachmyr Decellerator. It seems like the only people that have pistol grip shotguns are those that don't practice shooting them.

lol, that's my boy's first gun for learning and such. (He's 18 months though, so have to wait)
