To clarify, performance is not my consideration. I just like holding the M16s/ARs with the longer barrels. If you consider the perception of less recoil as performance, I like that too.

I shot the A2 a fair amount and just enjoy that length.

I'm definitely intrigued by the idea of a 6.8. I've wanted one for a while but I've just never pulled the trigger. No pun intended.

lol, yeah, 20" is right about right for what I want to goof around with going forward.

Either way, what's the scoop on this 6.8 barrel or is hush-hush?

What would one of them run through the GB? Is it upper w/ barrel or just upper?

Id be down for the GB if the price is where you say it is, but then again I didn't manage to get in on the last one so not sure I'll be allowed.

It also uses cheap easy to find .223 cases, and the projectiles are much cheaper and more selections are available. And best thing is you can buy military grade bullets in bulk. At 100 yards a .300 fireball loses about 20fps - that's impressive. And the best thing is they are absolutely quiet as hell while still cycling the action (something a .308 or AR-10 can't do).

                  long range anyone?
Thats impressive. What casing does it use? Can it use an AR10 lower/mags?

It's a .308 bullet in a .223 case. Works in an AR15. Factory mags and everything. Only a barrel change.

now THAT sounds sweet. I may have to reload some of those and just get another barrel when I get my AR. Does the 6.8 have similar compatibility advantages or is it more of a process to make it work in a .223 AR?

They both work with standard mags and bolts. You just need a different barrel.

6.8 needs a different bolt and either a different follower in the mag or a different mag....

Damn, same bolt and mags. I was going to do a 7.62x39 build, but I may do a 300 instead. I'd like to someday do a Form 1 and turn my own suppressor.

just a bolt face, not the whole carrier.
