Went ahead and got the Academy Sports 64-gun safe for 700 shipped. I know its not the best safe out there, but bolted down it will do the job. If someone really wants my guns, they will get to it.

More often than not the contents survive very well. Except when the fire burned much longer than the rating then everything is toast. I’ve seen everything burned to pile of ash and the safe contents are unscathed except for being a little damp. Fire Dept gave it a little extra attention. I’m a safe tech I’ve opened 50-60 burned safes.
Rural area are the most challenging due to the response time of the Local VFD.Comment
