7.62. SGAmmo always has the zoo animals 7.62 stuff for around $200-230 a case. Magazines are about a third cheaper for AK47 vs AK74.

I agree with what someone else said about the WASR. The problem is they are priced about twice what they should be, but that is the market we live in. They were going for around $600 last I checked. I have one and it is just a rugged, no frills AK.

I have heard mixed reviews about the PSA AK's. If you just want an AK, then the PSA route would probably be fine. If you want Eastern European Combloc AK, then I would get a WASR. Its really the closest thing you will find IMHO.
