A good case (Have one voodoo soft case and one pelican case for different purposes) Makes range trips a lot easier.

A good scope mount

A good scope (am starting to see the light on this)

I had a free float barrel - nice tube w/ covers felt nice

All the other stuff I did was not really needed at all

It all depends on the use of the rifle.

Its another reason why you cant have just one.

BUIS since mine is a flat top.
A bolt release like the Magpul BAD or Troy's version.
A comfortable grip like hogue or ergo.
Good sling.

The best all around use rifle. In my eyes.

14.5-16 inch flat top. So you atleast have a little distance vs the shorter rifles.

buis with some sort of red dot optic. A good sling, a free float would be a nice have but not needed.

A spot for a spare battery for the red dot.

This would work in alot of different areas. It would work well in a combat situation, and a hunting situation under 300 yards. Depending on what ammo you had.

Not essential but really nice to haves...

1. Magpul BAD lever
2. Good optic (Think EOtech or Aimpoint)
3. Good rail or handguards. I like the magpul MOE handguards or the Midwest industries freefloat rail.(just because it's good at a good price..not the best by far.)
4. Find some magazines that you like. Lancer or Pmags are what I run.
5. If you like shooting fast I'd recommend a good compensator. I really really like the Battlecomp 1.0 I have on mine. They have a couple variants out now but I can't begin to tell you how much it helps with groups when shooting quick. Can be had for $150 w/ free shipping from Aimsurplus.
6. Bolt upgrade kit from BCM if you got a "gunshow special" deal. (or just replace the whole BCG with a M16 carrier and bolt.)

Important!
7. Before you buy any of this shit...get a bunch of ammo and get comfortable with your gun the way it is. It'll make you appreciate all the bells and whistles a whole lot more...trust me.

Gotcha man. I think I'm going to order a magpul back up rear sight to get shooting with the m4 one. I can still use that one with the eotech, which is the way I'm planning on going. Thanks for the info though guys.

I really like my MOE handguard, and my Ergo grip. I think I'll have an ACE stock on my next build.
