Making holsters

have any of you tried it? I want a crossbreed style holster but they don't make one for my gun so I have been thinking about trying my hand at making one.

It is easy to do with plastic but I am hopeless when it comes to working leather.

Ya, the only downside to having a gun that's not commonplace. Even my 1911 Rail is a little bit of a PITA to find a good holster for.
