I called S&W and it's actually a .126 rear sight blade height for a 500 magnum 8-3/8". Just in case anyone on the internets ever needs to know this."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

CJ, you are probably the only one to ever need that information. You are probably the only one who has broken the rear sight blade from shooting so many of your nuclear loads through your S&W .500!Originally posted by Marisawe women are all irrational and emotional and insane...some just hide it better than others.

Haha. Ever since I heard one of the S&W engineers say there was no load hot enough that could damage the gun, I have been determined to prove him wrong. Apparently they can take a 200% overcharge indefinitely. I don't know how many rounds I have through the gun, but I know it's over 1,000rds. So far I'm broken the rear sight and the cylinder release flew off. I called S&W up today and they replaced both of them free of charge. I'm 1,000 rds short of proclaiming this the best revolver I've ever owned. I have a 700gr mold on order to up the ante on this frame."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin
