Safety Wire (Good Idea or over the top?)

Was changing out optics\furniture on the AR last weekend and noticed that a few of my scope mounts\nuts had the holes for safety wire in them.

I usually use just a bare dab of blue loctite when mounting stuff on rails, but has anyone ever heard of using safety wire?

I dunno, just the cool factor may be worth it if you don't plan on changing things around anytime soon.....

I got in the habit of safety wiring the shit out of everything when I was working at Orbital but that is car stuff. There are very few applications that would require safety wiring when it comes to firearms.

Safety wire or use a cable gun just to be sure.
