30.06/30.07 signs at Botanic Gardens

Went to concert in the gardens last night with the family. As i was walking in I seen the signs and had to return to the truck to leave my g26. It was definitely a surprise seeing that sign as in the past they only had a "no firearms allowed" sign

Botanic gardens is a city owned facility and technically they aren't allowed to ban concealed carry Right?..BUT since its a special event put on by the Ft Worth city orchestra on their property does this change the law????

It's definitely owned by the city, so I'd say it's invalid. The Dallas Arboretum went through this recently and had to take down their signs. There's an official way to file a complaint and start the process to get it removed, but you'd have to google to get the details. I think Dallas actually just reviewed the law after complaints and took it down voluntarily rather than wait for the AG to force them to.

You'll have to lodge your complaint with which entity controls the property (city or county). After three days, if there's been no action. You can get on the AGs website and fill out their complaint form there. They will request you provide a copy of your letter and photos of the location. Then you will be contacted by an investigator who will collect more info (potentially) and then sent to the attorney handling the complaints where he will handle it from there. It's not a fast process. I've been waiting on 2 months now for the result of a few.

the concert in the gardens is every Friday and Saturday night for only 6 weeks leading up to July 4th...They don't post the signs at any other time in the gardens during the year..Which led me to believe its an issue with the Ft Worth city Orchestra wanting the ban on firearms

They do serve a lot of wine and beer but there's no 51% sign

yes it was...Laser show was the best I've see out there but the fireworks were a bit of a let down

They run a summer camp so part of the facility is classified as a school. Just like the zoo and their day care. By law the signs are only supposed to apply to the actual building licensed/classified for child care use but the argument on their side is they use the entire facility for the classes.
