I need a tent. Can rain alot at that time. Some guys do tarps and bags but they are more bad ass than me.

I looked at both of those models but settled on a Marmot Limestone 4 person last year. This model isn't a backpacking tent but more of a car camping tent. Which was more of what I was looking for in a tent. Overall, I think the Marmots I looked at all seemed like they were good quality.
Just remember that a 2 person backpacking tent is barely enough room for two smaller than average sized people packed in like sardines with no extra gear in the tent.
If your close to an REI they usually have some in stock and you might be able to see one on display.

I have the REI Halfdome Plus 2. I like the Plus because it adds some additional length and allows you to keep more gear in the tent. It comfortably fits two average sized guys and climbing gear. You have room for additional gear, shoes, etc in the vestibules. It's held up well to rain. It's considered heavy for a backpacking tent but I'm not an ultralight hiker and you can split it between two people if it's a concern.

Depends on how much money you want to spend and how light you want it to be..

I found a tent that weighed about 6 lbs, for around 100 , to get any lighter than that and prices seemed to jump to 300.00+

Good thing is many tent manufactures will list weight.

In my little 6 lb tent, i backpacked for two nights, it got down to 17 the first night, it was pretty cold, I relyd on my -20 sleeping bag for warmth.

We cached water. which I recommend highly if you can do it.

I was going to buy one of those small tents for backpacking but instead I recently bought a 10' x 10' silnylon tarp so that I can use it as a fly for my hammock or as a 'tent' when trees aren't available. Super small and very light but can make a pretty big shelter. I plan to spend a night or two in the tarp when we are in Colorado this summer. Practiced setting it up recently and it's way larger than most of the small 2 man tents:

Also have a 5x7 reusable emergency blanket (tarp with shiny side) for a ground sheet: [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Grabber-Outdoors-Original-Weather-Blanket/dp/B002CQUA28?ie=UTF8&colid=RU6QENW4T1QE&coliid=IQS5Z 11N3BY7T&psc=1&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_img[/ame]

The tarp is pretty high quality and was only $60 (plus $15 for the ground sheet).

I just re-read your OP - I think the ones you are looking at look good.

I also did a tarp and bed roll to help with weather and cold.

It was 17 degrees and threatening to rain when I went. The tarp usually goes under the tent to help with rain, as well as tent placement is huge.

I did an emergency blanket (shiny thin ones) draped over the top of my tent to help hold in my body heat.
