  • Low Mass BCG

What are these suckers used for?

I came across a Seekins low mass BCG for a good deal, and since I split my last BCG in half, I bought it.

I've read that I need a heavier buffer weight and an adjustable gas block to run a 7.5" barrel w/ suppressor.

Will this BCG hurt or help my situation?

Well, I am no expert but I would think that you could end up having a much more "violent" blow back from the action as it will be moving faster.

I would either add a heavy buffer to help compensate or if you have an adjustable gas block then turn it down a little.

Why sell low weight bcg and then add more weight to the buffer? I had 2 built uppers that the only difference in was the bcg. One was low weight and the other was standard, both 7.5" sbr. On a full auto lower the only difference I could tell was a slight increase in rate of fire.

My previous BCG had the gas key sheared off with the suppressor on.

After doing a very small amount of research, it looks like I need a heavier buffer weight and possibly an adjustable gas block and/or both.

Adjustable gas block would tune it to however you like. Run the light weight carrier and standard buffer and just tune it to your liking.
