Anyone have an AR 57? I was thinking of grabbing an upper. They are kind of on the high side.

The ammo is high too. Pretty cool...but not for the price IMO.

You're better off buying a regular .223 upper and a large mag.

(A 5.7 is nothing more than a under powered .223).

Would like to try it some day. Have a P90 and 2k rounds of 5.7's. Loading up for the Zombies.....
        Some cars and a bike...

Some say... they have been raced, some a lot

i've been throwing the idea around about starting a ar57 build. I love my buddies p90, but love the adaptability of the ar platform.

That can be said for a bunch of rounds out there. Sorta like that .300 Fireball that CJ posted. Just an underpowered .308 if you wanna get down to it, but still a good round.

I don't know I'd it would have enough recoil to work. Unless you reload 5.7mm is bad news for your wallet.

                    This time a million.

I had a Five-seveN and finding ammo for that little bugger was expensive and difficult (in Waco only 1 shop carries it... and they gouge you big time).

And I do not believe that the round would produce sufficient recoil to work on the slide fire stock with a mil spec trigger, but with a 2 pound trigger or something it would probably do pretty good.

Also the action might not cycle well in the slide fire, as the rifle moving backwards freely would absorb some of the inertia necessary to cycle the blow back driven action.

Edit: Take this with a grain of salt. It could work spectacularly, but this is just a possibility of what could occur.

OK I'm throwing my 2 cents in here

5.7 is not that much if any more expensive than a comparable 223 the round is a brass case with hornady ballistic tip and 44 cents a round when bought at $21.95 a box same load in a 223 would be at least that if not more Compare it to wolf and sure it's more money but my AR's don't like wolf

The bumpfire stock works great with the 5.7 upper and is much more controllable. Actually the only cal I could not get the bumpfire stock to work with was 22lr

Personally I have a 57 upper and a PS90 I much prefer the PS90 as the optics mount is a little more convenient but it's also twice if not more the price. An upper with a good red dot or compact scope is a very good solution
