Being impatient, and under peer pressure from friends, I decided that instead of going to Runner Runner or DSG this weekend to piece something together, I just went to WebyShops in Arlington and bought a cheap AK.
Sights were straight. No trigger flap, and mags didn't wobble in the well.

Still waiting for the del-ton kit to come in to do the AR, but the urge to buy something wasn't willing to wait.

Yeah, pretty similar. Most folks can't shoot for shit anyway so they blame the equipment. In the end it's just a tool and the real weapon is the operator. I don't care what gun I'm using, as long as I'm comfortable and accurate with it, it will do the job.

I'd say you did ok. The price is about average for a functioning wood AK. If it shoots (I doubt you could make it NOT shoot)....and you're happy with it thats all that matters.

Congrats? The problem with the Century built AK's is they're notorious for having a canted front sight post.

What?! Every one of those that I've looked at were in good shape. I mean, they weren't high-end collector pieces, but they were right in that they would be good shooters. Definitely better than a Bakaara Market special.
