  • New to the AR scene...

I know about ar15.com and other forums, but I really don't have time or the patience to sign up for more so I'm asking here.

I just picked up a Bushmaster Carbon AR15 a couple weeks ago. I went to the gun show in Fort Worth to get a feel for better grips but it was so packed and I couldn't tell what was junk and what was quality that I left after walking halfway through.

    I'm looking for:
    - Grips
    - Front Grip with rail
    - Different muzzle brake
    - maybe a different stock
    - good sights (value wise, best bang for the buck)

So what are some good brands and what are some to stay away from? I like quality parts.
    I build websites. PM me.

Magpul for most of that. What kind of muzzle brake are you looking for?

Not real sure. There are some really flashy ones (no pun intended) but I dont want anything gaudy out there unless it has a functional use.

If you like quality you shouldn't have bought a carbon 15

Hey now, they aren't bad little plinkers, I bought one a couple years ago for 250, and traded in for a 686 plus.

I'm running a Larue grip and stock and love them. I have the magpul AFG on the rails as well.

                    Grip- Ergo or Hogue
                    Hand Guard - Magpul MOE
Stock - Mission First Tactical Battlelink Minimalist Stock or Magpul MOE
Sights - Depends what you are looking for\use it for.
IMO Overall a good choice is a mid range 1-4x illuminated scope.

Ergo grips for me. I dunno why I just took a liking to them.

There will be a 1001 different preferences and opinions on this crap man. Look at others and figure out what you like and go from there.

Then change your mind, end up with spare parts and try another set....

                          ...rinse and repeat.

Honestly grips and handguards are like dresses for Barbi dolls. It really doesn't make a bit of difference in the end and is just personal pref. Now the recommendation to get an illuminated 1-4 is damn solid. Spend the money on functionality and ammo not flash. My $600 ARs shoot just as good as the $1200 one it just doesn't look as cool.

Definitely spend the money on the optic.

I will say buying the BCM charging handle was a nice accessory. Doing malfunction drills, I would sometimes not make good contact and end up slapping myself in the face (stupid, I know), from racking with the one side only. But putting the BCM medium gave me a more positive "grip" and eliminated that for me.
BCM? AR15 charging handles were designed by those in real-world combat. Mod 3x3, Mod 4x4, Mod 3B, Mod 4B, and MK2 models are available. Shop now!
