Let's talk good open carry holsters

Anyone have good waist mounted open carry holsters that hold the gun pretty securely and flush against the body? Either leather or kydex. Not big on open carry but I often wear an opened button up shirt anyways and that would conceal an open holster and allow me to wear pants that actually fit instead of buying them one size bigger. I carry my S&W Shield 90% of the time but also have a Glock 19 I may be inclined to carry more if I didnt have to wear it IWB to safely meet the law like I used to.

I've got a leather OWB from Bulldog Cases. It stays snug on me and has a slight suction feel when pulling it out.

Anyway, it was less than $20 and I've been wearing it almost daily for two years. It's like this, but tan:

The pic looks like the Glock is riding higher than it actually does. I think that's where it sits if you just drop it in. I give mine a little push in. <<< Again LOL!

I tend to lean towards kydex paddle holsters for their convenience and the ease of reholstering the gun as the holster doesn't collapse like a leather holster inevitably does. Lately though, mostly due to a couple of holsters I bought from Bravo Concealment, I find myself leaning more towards belt holsters as opposed to paddle. They tend to hug the body a lot closer although they are not as easy to put on.

Kydex tends to retain the gun a lot better IMO than leather, I can hold many of my holsters upside down and the gun won't fall out. Although I really can't think of a situation that might come in handy, I'd prefer some retention than it being loose. Comfort wise might go to the leather holster although I'm quite use to kydex and I don't have to worry about it retaining moisture like you might with leather. Anyway just some random thoughts.

OWB I wouldn't think comfort would be effected by leather or kydex. IWB yes there can be a big difference depending on the design.

Ha! I thought so as well until I bought a couple of Safariland ALS holsters. They don't dig into my body but they do dig into the chairs like a spear as I try to sit down.

I really like the Safariland 6377 I got for my G20 with Streamlight TLR-1. It was the only holster I could find specifically made for this gun and light so I went ahead and ordered it not having tried any other Safariland products. Gun fits nicely and securely and the thumb release is effective and easy to use. I plan to carry it as my sidearm hog hunting at night.

Raven holsters are good stuff and I have 2 of them. But for the money, I'd check out Milt Sparks. There are simply no comparison when it comes to values and craftmanship.

No, but I bought lefty since I am a southpaw. I also bought a righty since I have two matching handguns. I shit you not, I've worn both. You just need to have pants with plenty of belt loops.

When I first looked at it I thought it was only for small pistols, but see that have them in larger sizes as well. I think I may be picking that one up.

I have two mediums that fit my PF9s and a large that fits my Glock 23. I paid $19 at a store in Louisiana for the first one and got the other two online for $17 each. I'm not sure if it was from the website or Amazon.

I ordered one of these last week, and even though the fitment chart says it fits the 4" XD, there was no way I was getting mine in it. I thought they may have had the wrong size in the package so I went ahead and had them send another.

It did fit in the second one even though they were the same size. The stitching was a little wider on the second (it was the area around the trigger guard that was the problem). It is definitely a tight fit but it seems like it is going to work. I may try wet molding the holster to see if it will form a little better.
