I bought a Remora http://www.remoraholsterstore.com/"No Clip" holster a while back and was pleasantly surprised at how well it stay put.

I still prefer a traditional holster/belt for security, but also use the Remora when I'm walking the dog in the morning and doesn't wants to put on a gun belt.

For the thinnest profile, look for holsters with belt loops away from the holster body:

    http://www.crossbreedholsters.com/Ho...e/Default.aspx

Holsters with belt loops on top of the holster body are surprisingly bulky and I've never found one that works for me.

Holster is a pretty personal item and you really have to try out a bunch of difference ones to find what works for you.

Anyone have any idea on wait time once you file the paper work with the state to receive your license?

DPS will make every effort to issue your license within 60 days of receiving the completed application packet. If the application is incomplete or requires additional information to complete the background check, you will be notified in writing.

My step dad is in Oklahoma, about 3 weeks ago he went and filed to get his license, they told him to expect about 6 months as they are extremely backed up with people filing. Wasn't sure if that were the same case here in Texas for any reason.

I am looking for places in the Sherman or McKinney ish area to go take the class. Seems everywhere is doing it on the 16th of this month but I will be out of town.

In my experience, and from friends, TX has always beat the 60 day requirement.
