If there is a sign you are dumb enough to refuse they can rightfully get the police involved and you jeopardize your right to ever carry again.
They can post a legal 30.07 sign and / or they can give you notice, individually, after entering. That notice can be verbal or in writing (like a flyer or pamphlet) but, to my understanding, must be given to you specifically (not just a 'no guns' sign posted inside). Meaning, if you go into a place without the 30.07 sign, they can still tell you to leave and you must (legally) comply.

Ive yet to see anyone OC this weekend, and it was somewhat disappointing after months of the news talking about how we were all going to die.

At that point it doesn't matter what signs are up or if you have a weapon. Having a license to carry doesn't give anyone the right to trespass, which is what you'd be doing if asked to leave a business and refused.

True! I just wanted to state that because I could see some bonehead being asked to leave (disarm and return or conceal) and argue that they don't have a legal 30.07 sign posted, so they don't have to leave. lol

I should have worded it better.

Has anyone actually seen a 30.07 sign posted? As I mentioned, I have been looking but haven't noticed any.

It does matter a bit. We really need to force these guys to comply with the same laws we have to. Don't want guns? Fine, put up the correct signs at all entrances. It isn't hard. I still prefer being concealed just because they won't know and if they have no signs bjt are anti gun they wont have any reason to tell you to leave and everyone feels good. Malls and theaters are the worst about not putting up the correct signs at all entrances.

Really... did they also have a 30.06 sign?

They definitely should post the correct signage to benefit everyone. That said, I got BP's point too.

Interesting but not surprising. I almost expected to see more of them. I didn't see them at Bass Pro, Tom Thumb nor Home Depot, all of which I thought may have them.

Agree with you on signs but if they give a verbal request for you to leave, that is compliance with the law.

Bass Pro would have a problem with Open Carry?

I'm curious to see if Whattaburger or Chipotle have posted signs. They have openly stated they don't want Open Carry in their stores. Whataburger has stated they are perfectly fine with concealed carry so they can keep my business.

Oh yeah, definitely if they give verbal warning you need to leave, but that (or them not saying shit and calling cops) would provide the opportunity to educate them that they are in fhe wrong. Not that I want the cops called but you know there are going to be stories about zero verbal or written notice from store owners who just call cops, at least I expect there to be.

I wouldn't expect places like bass pro or cabelas or academy to post 30.07 signs. In fact I believe all three have written notices on the doors saying their policy is to respect local carry laws and permit it in store so long as it remains holstered.

Interesting note though, I did notice walmart posted a no open long guns notice but says concealed or open handguns are welcome. Good on them and I am sure the long gun ban can be contributed to the douchebags at open carry texas. Can't really blame walmart for that decision, I would probably kick those asshats out of my store as well, if I had a store.
