I have been open carrying for about 15 years so I don't see what the big deal is!

I open carried today, and will continue to do so at least on every second day of the month. Supporting the 2nd on the 2nd and all that.

I will cc the vast majority of the time though, I think. I find it more comfortable.

Just a little summary of our new OC-------------------------------------------****TEXAS OPEN CARRY / CONCEALED CARRY SUMMARY****
Over the last few days, I have seen all across the internet, as well as Facebook, a ton of questions in regards to the new laws regarding Open Carry in our Great State of Texas.
With that being said, I have recently attended the Legislative Updates Course and I hope that I can try and summarize any confusion about the law.
CHL or Concealed Handgun License - Is now known as a HL or Handgun License. In order to do ANY of the below, you have to have this license issued by the State of Texas.
Open Carry - You can ONLY open carry a firearm if it is holstered in a Shoulder Holster or a Hip Holster. No where else on your body. Period.
Concealed Carry - You can still do this. You can conceal it anywhere you like. Inside your waist band, on your ankle, in the front of your pants, in your pockets, or up your nose (sarcasm). As long as it is concealed. If any part of the gun is visible, then its NOT CONCEALED and it must meet the OPEN CARRY requirements.
Places you cannot carry. Nothing has changed in regards to Schools, Court Houses, Voting Polls, etc .......
Businesses - They can refuse you the right to enter THEIR PROPERTY if they chose to do so. However, they have to post the PROPER SIGNAGE in order to do so. If they do not have the proper signs, then you can carry. HEB will be posting signs, if they have not done so already, that will ban ONLY THE OPEN CARRY. You can still go in concealed like emoticon.
If a business has the sign, then please respect it. Don't be an asshat about it. Please respect THEIR PRIVATE property.
Also, don't be a retard and go pulling your gun out every five minutes. This will give the rest of the HL Holders a bad name, not to mention that it will make people nervous. You might even get the Police called on you.
If you do get the Police called on you, this is a point in time where you REALLY DO NOT want to act like an ASSHAT or a RETARD. They are there to do A JOB and they will do it to the best of our abilities.
If police get called because your acting like an idiot, then they will and do have the RIGHT to ask you for your Driver's License AND your Handgun License (HL). So again, don't catch a case of STUPID here.
If it is just a casual encounter where you are acting normal and not any of the aforementioned behaviors are being done, then the Police do have the RIGHT to ask to see your Handgun License (HL)!!! Again, don't be an ASSHAT, and show the Police Officer your HL license and you will more than likely be on your merry way after a few minutes.

You seriously need to get educated on Texas gun laws asap.. It's not that complicated.

Back on topic, I haven't open carried (and have no immediate plans to). I did keep an eye out this weekend, for both open carriers and 30.07 signs, but saw neither.

I may be stupid in this too, but I believe if the business owner does not want firearms on the premises they must clearly indicate as such to where it is clearly visible outside the business. If there is a sign you are dumb enough to refuse they can rightfully get the police involved and you jeopardize your right to ever carry again.
