It sounds almost like he wants to outlaw private sales period. That'd close pretty much any "loop hole" I can think of.

Shhhh, you don't ever let them know that you're wise to their plan.

I am glad I am not the only one. Even though it looked fake as hell where has the waterworks been for all the other horrible things that have happened?

They want a background check on every sale because then all it takes is another piece of legislation and they can keep a record of every sale. Once they have that it won't be long until they have a massive database that includes every sale.

It is just another stepping stone on the way tot heir dream which is confiscation. Today just illustrates that these people have no problem telling outright lies to reach their goals. It should give a good indication of their ultimate goals.

I've dealt with Washington state's law requiring an FFL for all transfers. For the smallest players, It makes anything firearms related more costly, difficult, and nearly impossible to share any experiences in training or in the hobby. It is largely unenforceable, so while it has made criminals out of normal people, I can't say how it has affected criminal activity that was already happening, at all.
We already had difficulty , living in a metro area split by a state line. Now, many normal people don't even want to bother with the hassle.

So far, the ATF rules from this just state 'those in the business who's livelihood and profit depend on the sales.' (paraphrased). Me selling to you or giving to my kids aren't affected (yet).

The problem is it's up for interpretation. Don't think for a second they can't find some crooked judge to rule you're in the business of selling even for 1 or 2 firearms.

You know the rules did not change at all right? The EO literally changed nothing.

It has always been a crime to buy and sell guns for a profit without an FFL (well, since 1968).
