  • old gun buyers in the area

Who would be my best option to sell a lot of old guns to locally? My mother is wanting to sell all of my dads guns for her. I'd like to get her the best price I can, I'd make a deal on them all to one dealer. Any dealers I could go to would be very helpful

How old are you talking? I have a friend that's a dealer and he really loves his cowboy guns, but he might be able to help you out even if they are not that old. http://www.3bshootingsupply.com/

Dealers do not want to pay anything. Most of us posting in this forum are dyed in the wool enthusiast of guns and you may do well by listing them here.

Are they mostly old military or sporting rifles?

I would be very interested in acquiring the lot if they are the former.

I'll be in a similar boat once I get a chance to go through my dad's stuff. He passed in July. I know I've got a P-38, Luger 9mm in holster, reconditioned Broomhandle with aftermarket stock, Marbles Gamegetter, M1 Garand, Ruger Blackhawk in .357, High Standard "The Victor", Browning Medalist (I believe), Valmet .223, various shotguns, rifles, a spear gun, couple crossbows, Jerico pistol, derringers, black powder stuff, knives, swords, and ammo.

Depending on the exact model I would be interested in the Valmet. Be VERY careful selling the gamegetter if you can not ID what exact model it is unless you can find the stamp for it.

If you take them to a dealer, you can generally expect to get about half what they're worth, maybe even less if selling them in a big lot. Selling them all in one shot to a dealer may be much quicker and easier, but if you want to get what they're worth I'd sell them private party.

I don't really wanna mess with researching and posting. I have an idea what I want out of them so if a dealer met me on that # I'd be happy

If there's an old S&W in .44SPL in there, I'd be interested.

It would be helpful if you told us there were 5 guns or 50 and a general ballpark on value. That will make a difference in who could make an offer on the whole lot if you are not wanting to sell individually.
