  • Ruger AR-556

Picked one up earlier and wondering if anyone has any experiences good or bad with it?

I have an SR556 and love the hell out of it even though it is an AR. I am sure that the AR556 is a damn fine rifle too.
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

Shouldn't you have asked this question before you bought one, rather than after?

That would require fore thought and how are you supposed to do that with an impulse buy?

I asked somewhere else and got pretty good responses locally. Thought I'd ask all the experts on here just for grins. Been looking at this gun for a couple weeks.

This wasn't an impulse buy. Been looking at AR's for several months but didn't have the funds to make a purchase then. Now I do.

I'll take that piece of shit off your hands for $300, and you don't even have to thank me.

It's a scary looking black rifle with a pistol grip, adjustable stock, and a foregrip that was originally manufactured by Mattel. It's simply badass. There is a lot of fluff and frill in the AR market, but at the end of the day that doesn't matter a whole lot.

Are you saying that my billet titanium full length octo rail with 3 sets of backup sights, two flashlights, spare batteries, a forward grip, a bi pod, and a glass breaker that adds a mere 26lbs to my rifle doesn't matter a whole lot? What planet are you from cause it sure ain't planet Tacticool.

Keep it locked up or it'll kill a lot of people while you're at work. Obama says so.

I think my AK looks a lot scarier. I don't really care for the tacti-cool approach. I want a basic rifle that shoots well that is easy to maintain.

He said easy to maintain. Swapping rollers and checking bolt gap < not doing shit, ever
