  • Thoughts on the GSG-5?

Was going to look at this one tomorrow.

Supposedly one of the "originals" before H&K sued them? And what's the deal with the fake suppressor being reclassified and recalled?

Seems this one isn't the SD (has smaller dia. shroud) so should be good to go.

They are a ton of fun, sometimes they seem picky with ammo though.

That's a pretty good deal, as long as everything functions properly.

They are decent little guns. I prefer the takedown and bolt design on the HK licensed ones made by Walther a little better (simpler design), but the GSG have a better (thicker) barrel...
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

They are kind of shitty. I had a pre-lawsuit one and sold it because a $200 10/22 is a vastly superior gun.

I can't fathom spending $400 on that gun when you could buy a 10/22 and a lot of mods.

You sold it because it was too expensive for what it was or you sold it because it did not perform well?

They're shit compared to a lot of other stuff, but they're fun enough. Buy it if you want one.

                          Opted for this instead:

For significantly less that $400, and it's new.

                          Thanks for the halp, guis.

Mine was fun until it wouldn't stop firing out of battery even after a trip back to ati. Airsoft rails will mod to work well. The drum mag was junk. Stick mags were good for me even the promag ones. Suprisingly accurate for me anyway. Would have kept it if not for the malfunctions.
