  • Ready to stretch the legs on my Creedmoor.

Factory Savage 12 Long Range Precision chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor.
Precision Target accutrigger set at 15oz.
    Factory installed HS Precision stock.
    Harris BR bipod
Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 Mil/Mil with EBR1 reticle.
Shooting factory 120gr Hornady AMAX ammo. (Will be loading my own once I have a good amount of brass)

Anyone have a private range, or know of a public range that's not too far from me, where I can stretch out to 500 yards or more?

That's an awfully light trigger pull.

It will adjust down to 6oz, but I'm comfortable with it set where it's at. This is a target rifle, won't be carried around in the field or carried when loaded. Most bench rest competitors have triggers in the 2-10oz range...

Makes sense. I've never owned a bench gun, I didn't know they got them that low. I definitely wouldn't feel safe carrying it around loaded.

My dad preferred 4oz, step mother likes 6oz

Where do you live? You should shoot 1000 yds with little effort.

Spartan Tactical, it's a relatively new range but I've heard nothing but good things about it. The TxPRC just held a match out there a couple months back and everyone seemed to like it. I think we're planning on having more matches out there next season.

Well, now that I look at where you're at, no where is "close". You're going to have about an hour drive one way or another.

I can't add much as far as ranges go. Kinda a odd area.

The match at Spartan was rough. Truly tough terrain with some shitty switching winds. That being said the place is badass and the head instructor is incredibly nice with some nice credentials.

Looks like Spartan is closed to the public, except for some classes.

You can shoot at 1000yds at Tac Pro anytime you want, you just have to get certified by an instructor.

Do you have to set up a appointment for the certification?

Yes. It's kind of a pain in the ass.
