Bad shoot..."Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

Yeah, I don't know about this. If someone follows me home, bad things are going to happen to that person.
That said, I would NEVER go home if someone was following me for obvious reasons. I'd call 911 and wait for them to catch up to us and pull everyone over.Ford

Only iffy area to me is if the other guy walked on his property or not. Still, once you follow someone to their house - it's a new game at that point. Lawful or not.Originally posted by MR EDDU defend him who use's racial slurs like hes drinking water.

Ya so many things went wrong especially considering both parties involved (IMO) were the aggressors. You don't follow someone home. You don't say the things he said to the 911 operator. You don't shoot someone in the back.
And I don't care about Castle Doctrine or not (or whatever they call it in Florida), if your life is not in imminent danger and you have the chance to retreat, do it. Sure Gonzales got out of the car and threatened to kick his ass. But Doyle could have easily had his gun out (not pointed at him) and backed up into his house. Just my opinion but it's not worth all the legal and financial implications of what's going to go down.

Gonzales was stupid for following. His wife should have given 911 the plate numbers then they should have disengaged.
The article isn't clear on how this all got started so I'm not throwing Doyle under the bus yet. However it is clear to me that both parties were out of control. Also, there is an article linked to the one posted above that has this comment:
A witness told deputies they saw Gonzalez backing away when Doyle pulled the gun, according to WTSP.

Legal/Not legal, I'll understand a shoot sometimes. In this case, the details are very fuzzy but I suspect that Doyle is going to lose due to those details and spend the rest of his years in prison. Even if he gets a lenient sentence, he is going to spend a lot of money getting there.
The things he said to the 911 operator put him on the losing end already.Originally posted by MR EDDU defend him who use's racial slurs like hes drinking water.
