  • Screaming deal on new AK magazines

I just stumbled across these and had to order a stack of them. This is the best deal that I have seen in years.

Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

Not that good a deal IMO.

Aim surplus had Polish Radom polymer mags for $8 each. Also had Yugo steel mags at $9 and Centerfiresystems had on the 4th of July 10 40 round korean mags in a 50 cal case for $100.

You can still get the centerfiresystems mags. More from Aimsurplus coming in!

Booooyah! Working hard? Or hardly working?!

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I bought three gibbs mags and none of them feed correctly. They are junk.

I have plenty of the Polish polymer mags and don't care for them; they break very easily. They are great sellers during the panic buying times and that is why I have them. The same applies to the Bulgarian commercial polymer mags.

Never liked the Korean mags either. They are much thinner then Euro mags and dent/bend very easily.

I sure hope the Gibbs mags feed reliably since I just bought 200 of them.

$11 for an AK mag is far from a screaming deal.

The "Radom" mags aim sells are cheap as they don't have steel reinforcements, they're on par with Tapco mags from the reviews I've read.

The Korean mags are a good deal though I'm not a big fan of the grey finish. They're not "much thinner" as I have quiet a few of them and they're comparable to the standard Euro surplus mags. Also here's a decent thread on AKfiles http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=198038

Best ak mags for the money are the steel surplus mags.

Exactly. I have never had one of them give me problems.

These were forged from pool cleaning tools and have the SVO stamp on them. I load 30 rds and they fire 31.

Also, the 172rd drum shoots whatever round you're thinking about at that moment.

I agree but new ones are $25.

The link that I posted is not for new surplus magazines. They are new production commercial magazines.

All of the "New in wrap" surplus mags are more expensive.

If you're spending $25 on a surplus steel 30rnd ak mag... you're either inept at using the internet or just trolling the armory sub forum

I am not going to pay $25 for a surplus AK mag but NEW IN THE WRAP ones are being sold for that much. Used ones can be had for less then half of that but I found the ones in the link that I provided and they are BRAND FUCKING NEW; not used so the price was extremely appealing to me. I hope they feed well or I am going to have 150+ pounds of expensive scrap.

Are surplus steel the only ones that hold open? Or will the Koreans do that too?

I have 2 steel, 3 tapco that I got when I purchased my Pap M92 and would like more steelies, but only if they BHO.
