  • local custom holsters?

Looking to get a set of holsters made. 1 owb and 1 iwb. None of the "big names" can seem to help.

    Any recommendations?

Looking to get sone made for the double stack.
everyone ive talked to is telling me theyll need the gun for 3+ weeks. From what ive heard a holster for the TRP full rail might work. But id rather not spend 100 bucks on a maybe.

You are going to open carry both of those at the same time, aren't you?

Lol no sir. I want a iwb for the winter months when it gets darker sooner and i can cover it up with a sweater or jacket. And a owb for camping or general asshattery when were on my buddies land.

I got a all metal witness for everyday cc.

Are these custom holsters just vacuum formed kydex? Ive been wanting to make a few vacuum formed cases and such for a while now and may try the holsters too. Im not able to offer a service yet, but still want to learn and try.

From what i understand its a press fit, im not sure if you can vacuum form kydex. From what ive read its pretty easu to get into. Ie all you need for the basics is a toaster oven and a press and time to learn (which i dont have)

Yes you can vacuum form with kydex, as with just about any other thermoplastic. And the process is incredibly simple, but forming just the way you want takes finesse for tools, guns...etc. basically, if i were to pull too much vacuum it would be near impossible to get the gun out.

I guess i was looking to confirm that it is kydex. I think thats what ill start with and give it a shot.

Btw...what is press fit in the plastic world?

Cool...just looked up press forming and i assume thats the same thing or at least close enough.

Thanks for the responses. Kydex and heat forming are good enough for me to try! Time to make a few holsters and cases.
