got to play with some today at the armory. And I'm not a Colt fanboy but I really like this le9620. I sold some of my guns including my heavy DPMS. To free up cash for a new AR. My total budget is $2k but would like to stay at $1k to have money left for an optic and ammo. I've thought about building one but I'm just so tired of building AR's Don't really wanna go that route.

Just wanna know what you guys think of the 6920? And what other "good" AR would you recommend for my budget. BTW the rifle will just be used to punch paper and on standby for a zombie apocalypse. Or ninja outbreak.

Responses will be all over the place about what gun is better but I think colts rifles are damn good for sub 2k range. Just research what it has in and on it. Its dumb to buy a rifle and replace everything instantly, like I did..

Get a great optic. I've been playing around with some cheaper Bushnell's, vortex, and primary arms that all got excellent reviews that were complete shit for me. Of course my first red dot was eotech so its easy to see the quality difference.

I have about 2k over the msrp in my bushmaster 308 build that turned into a JP rifle with bushmaster upper and lower. Plus, I put a 750 dollar leupold vx3 on it and its been flawless. Don't think 223 needs some thing that drastic but you get the point. So I paid around 3200 (no optic) for a gun I should have just ordered complete from JP for 2k or so.

I'm liking the mark4 .224 x4 scopes but they are around 800 and again likely worth it. Acog too but then you are looking at a 1200 dollar optic.

I dont think they a bad deal for the $800 or so they are going for these days.

If the price on the "OEM" models they sell was a little lower I would buy one.

grabagun in Coppell puts them on sale every other month or so for about $850. I got one in Magpul FDE and think it was worth it. I'm going to put a real ACOG on it soon.
