  • Looking to add another 308 semi to safe

So I already have an M1A 22" NM.

I'm probably going to put my 6.8 AR up for sale soon. I just feel like I have too many calibers around. It would also be for sale with around 300 rds of ammo, dies and projectiles. I could even include a few pounds of powder for the right buyer. It would also have a choice of optics, PA red dot or Burris 3X32 AR.

So all of that out of the way I'm looking to replace it with another 308 cal semi auto rifle.

    The PTR91 thread is interesting.

Which would you get and why?

    1) PTR91
    2) AR in 308 16" or 18", probably a Palmetto Build with Gieselle trigger.
    3) M1A in 16" or 18" to go along with 22".
    4) a bolt gun, Ruger Scout in 308.

This. The SCAR really is peerless in the marketplace.

Another option would to wait around and see about the new rifle from Desert Tech is like. I think it's the mdr or something like that and is supposed to be released soon.

Screw anything over 556 for an AR frame. That's a lot of pop to hold integrity for too long.

Suit yourself, but my LAR8 has held up quite well after 4,000 rounds. Most of it was XM80 ball ammo.

I've seen some junk. Rattling more than a Garland Fox Body.

A SCAR 17.... I'd love to shoot one someday before I plunk down that kind of coin. Now if I add a SCAR to my to buy list that makes my next two firearm purchases a nice cool $5K...... ouch. Add that to the ACOG in Gieselle trigger I want for my current Colt AR too. It will all probably be worth it in the end, but that is some serious expenditure. And of course I'm seriously wanting a real Mac10 too....

So do I buy a Cobra Mk IV kit this year or firearms? I guess it's going to take a few years to get there.

Dude, skip all the bullshit and get the Mac 10. Those little bastards are skyrocketing in price.

I'm thinking you might be right on this one. Probably for Christmas 2016....

Dude, they are going for nearly $6,000 nowadays from the reputable dealers. Wait another 18 months and you are up another thousand.

I just bought a VEPR 308, 23" barrel. Paid about $800 for it, and it has plenty of aftermarket stuff to suit you, including mags.
