  • Dem proposes The Firearm Risk Protection Act

I know this won't pass but I found it funny.

(The Hill) – House Democrat Rep. Carolyn Maloney (N.Y.) has introduced a bill that would require gun owners to carry liability insurance. The Firearm Risk Protection Act, unveiled Friday, would require gun buyers to have liability insurance coverage before being allowed to purchase a weapon, and would impose a fine of $10,000 if an owner is found not to have it. Service members and law enforcement officers, however, would be exempt from the requirement. “We require insurance to own a car, but no such requirement exists for guns,” Maloney said in a statement. “The results are clear: car fatalities have declined by 25 percent in the last decade, but gun fatalities continue to rise.” Maloney said auto insurance carriers incentivize drivers to take precautions to reduce accidents, but no such incentives exist for firearm owners. “An insurance requirement would allow the free market to encourage cautious behavior and help save lives,” she said. “Adequate liability coverage would also ensure that the victims of gun violence are fairly compensated when crimes or accidents occur.” - See more at: http://www.teaparty.org/u-s-rep-forc....2UmH930y.dpuf

Dems only care about that if it fits with their agenda.

They don't care about car insurance now, either.

Yes. Apparently the great kenyan hype has had the opposite effect they intended. The libbie scum are the minority, average joe is the majority.

So, can someone explain to me how having car insurance reduced fatalities by 25%? What a dumb bitch, and the voters who put her in office must be even dumber!
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

It will be covered by ObamaCare. So we will be paying for their coverage.

Firearm ownership is a constitutional right, while car ownership is not. Rep. Baloney needs to educate herself before making such a comparison.

Yay, so when Tyrone goes and robs a liquor store and gets shot, we need to make sure he gets paid.

My hollow threat of selling off everything and moving to some remote island gets less hollow every day.

This is my favorite part, she really thinks if it is a law the criminals will carry the insurance. These people don't live in the real world at all.
