So what will the Open Carry Rednecks over on Arlington be protesting next?

While I generally think licensed OC is a good idea, I doubt it will make much difference in our
    daily lives.

Much to do about nothing when there are MUCH BIGGER PROBLEMS that should be on the Texas legislative agenda...

They'll keep fighting for less-restrictive open carry. From my understanding they do not agree with the fact that you must have a CHL to OC.

Just my guess, though, as I do not really follow their antics.

            Sometime between now and September.

Regardless, OC won't go into effect until 1/1/16.

Hopefully will be enough time for interpretation and a brief "primer" course on the new limitations / signage, etc.

Yep, they'll be protesting for unrestricted open carry, since that douche whistle Kory Watkins can't get a CHL. He'll have his neckbearded, fedora-wearing, knuckle dragging minions stay out on the streets.

                FYI, SB11, Campus Carry, passed.

The bill decriminalizes possession of a handgun by licensees in college and university buildings but allows for certain sensitive areas such as a bio-containment lab to be posted off-limits with PC 30.06.

I don't think I would open carry, unless I was out hunting or at a gun range. Hell I get the creeps at gun shows and everyone is carrying their pistols/rifles/shotguns, of course everyone doesn't have magazines and their slides/bolts are plastic tie'd open, but its still weird, because some of them morons I wouldn't trust with a weapon.

I guess they probably feel the same about me, lol...

Just skimmed some of it, but some things I did see:

                            - concealed carry only
                            - accidental exposure is a crime
                            - cant carry at athletic events (same as before)
                            - cant carry on any transportation paid for by the school. IE no school buses.

Ya, I noticed the "accidental" reveal had more penalty than the normal CHL.

This might be the most idiotic argument against CC on campus I have seen yet.

Jessica Gullion, an assistant professor of sociology at Texas Woman's University, warns that allowing students to pack heat in the classroom could add a scary dimension to those after-class discussions about grades.
"Will we soon see a new sort of grade inflation, with students earning a 4.0 GPA with their firepower rather than brainpower?"
