Damn, Ben. Have you met him? A 9mm 4.5 is like a Derringer to him. Lol

It will see some use as a sidearm in bear country. I'd rather have a large caliber.

What's your fascination with the 9mm?

              Then might I suggest a 10mm?

I second that! A 10mm shooting hard cast lead will be a much better and more powerful choice than 45acp.

Suggest away. I'm a fan of the XDM, but it doesn't come in 10mm.

The Glock haters will cringe, but from what I've read you have big mitts. A Glock 20 would probably fit your hands well.

There are also several other pistols chambered in 10mm, if you don't like glocks...
                    EAA Witness
Sig has a new model that is out or will be soon in 10mm

You could also get a Coonan .357 Mag...

The Glock won't work. I've held a bunch of them. The guns with grips that have finger contours just don't work. I have huge mitts and fingers like bratwurst. I'll check out the other two.

                        Sig P220 in 10mm or P227 in .45.

                            FNX .45

It will more than accommodate your hands. It's also a 15+1 pistol. I have a couple .40s and love them. My brother has a FNX .45 tactical and a FNX .45, they are great shooters.

They are decent guns, but not in the same league as others mentioned here.
