The Huffines amendment was pulled so now Open Carry is expected to pass.

Not perfect, but at least a step in the right direction if you support Open Carry.

A controversial provision, which law enforcement officials have said would allow criminals to carry firearms without repercussions, has been removed from a key gun bill, lawmakers confirmed Thursday.

      This. Gotta start somewhere.

My bad. I was on my phone at the time and it was a quick response without checking on the link.

      W00t!

Though, it should have said : "A controversial provision, which law enforcement officials have said would allow citizens to carry firearms without being detained, has been removed from a key gun bill,..."

It passed, and Abbott said that the next destination was, "My Pen".
Texas lawmakers have approved licensed open carry of handguns on the streets of the nation’s second-most populous state.

There are too many fucking laws on the books already and they do not need to add a new one to the pile.

I break at least 10 major laws before I get out of bed each morning.

Then I hope that you make decisions that I can support or I may be forced to try to bring about your death and take your place.

I don't open carry but I will now. You are right about one thing; I truly don't give a fuck.

This thread is void. Greg Abbott says next stop for the bill is his pen.

                          Via TSRA:
Tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at a North Austin gun store and shooting range, Governor Greg Abbott will sign TSRA's Open Carry bill during an official signing ceremony. This was a campaign promise, made good!

At least we got something, even if it does need a permission slip.
