  • What is she worth?

I'm trying to sell this rifle for my dad that has sat in his safe for years and just not being used. It's stainless steel winchester model 70 30.06 that he purchased back in 1996 with 2 boxes of ammo. He added a matching SS Simmons 3X10x44 wide angle scope and the then sighted in the gun, at which point it was placed in a safe and almost forgotten. I'm trying to get a realistic idea of what it's worth, my dad is saying around 750.00. I have seen the black synthetic model 70's going for 500 to 600, but what would you say this one is worth in near perfect condition, and when I say perfect less then 10 total rounds through her.

I only see one that has sold on Gunbroker for $800 with rings and no scope.

Others that haven't sold are $1100 and $1250. So that should give you some idea as what to expect.

Yeah, for the type of rifle I'd be in the 600-800 range. Doubt many would care much about the scope in this case.

If it wasn't in -06 I would have been interested...

it's like a time capsule... one of the boxes of ammo is dated 11/02/96

I've been wanting a bigger game caliber in the collection, and I'm a sucker for stainless. As soon as he posted it, my wanties kicked into overdrive

The real question is will I actually shoot it or will it ride safe duty? LOL
