Also, has anybody noticed that most self-proclaimed preppers are fat as fuck? Seems to me like the ability to complete a 5k in a timely manner is conducive to survival skills.

I have noticed that too. Seems like how much they are into prepping is directly proportional to weight. The few really thin exceptions manage to stick out like a sore thumb at gun shows. I believe in some prepping for natural disasters and emergencies like that, but there is a balance between what is very likely to happen (tornado) and what probably won't happen (emp).
