I was reading about threading the factory barrel, but my concern is the barrel would be shot out.

After convincing myself to buy one of these over the weekend, I notice the mag release is in an odd spot which would require two hand operation to drop a magazine. Sort of a deal killer for me...damn it

Are you some one handed shooting gangster? At first it did seem like an odd spot, but thinking about it, it kinda seems ingenious, hit it with your support hand index finger. /cobraman

That position for a mag release/retainer is not unusual.

It maybe common, but I have practiced probably 2,000 mag changes with a 92fs. We would load 4 magazines with 2 rounds each. One in the weapon and the remaining 3 on our kit and practice mag changes for hours.
On the 92fs its just so easy to hit that mag release with your thumb while your weak hand is grabbing another magazine.
I still have all my mag holders and several blackhawk holsters as well as 92fs mags which is why I was attracted to this deal. Apparently you cant use my mags with that surplus beretta.

Also, while looking for mag change videos, I came across this hilarious and embarrassing video.
              Christ.

I feel ya. Heel mag catches are not as popular as they once were. Many shooters cant stand them.

I have a Sig p220 and P6 with a heel release and don't really care for it on those models. I have a P7 and like that heel release; it is a pivoting lever vs a spring on the Sigs.
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

So I have visited Wilson and talked with them about this pistol. My salesman told me Wilson doesn't touch them at all. They spec what they want and Beretta builds them for them. I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but its definitely something I would want to know before I bought one.

Mine too. I have a 92 upper so I have the best of both worlds. In all the rounds that have gone through it in the last maybe 10 years I have never experienced any sort of failure.

Finally received my gun. Months late but worth the wait.
