Looking for opinions on the Galil. I know where there is one for sale and was considering buying it, but prices seem to be all over the place. If you look on Gunbroker the prices seem to be generally ridiculous and often higher than an H&K 91 or 93.

This one is a standard rifle-length 7.62. According to the original owner he purchased it many years ago, fired one round through it, then put it in the safe. I looked it over and popped the top cover and it definitely looks brand new. Seems like there are some design similarities with an AK from what I could tell.

Wondering if anyone has much experience with them and what a reasonable price for this gun would be.

It's an Israeli variation on a Valmet, so it is an AK, just a milled receiver AK. If it's preban, at sub $2k, snap it up.

Jump on it if it is cheap but be forewarned that magazines are $$ if you are talking about a 7.62x51 model. I sold a pre-ban 7.62x51 model with 14 mags for a little over 5k in Jan of 2013.

I took another look at it. It says IMI Galil 308 rather than 7.62. It's a model 329 side folder. It has an 'S' stamped next to the model number, so it's a sporter and not a pre-ban model. They won't go below $2500 so I'm going to pass.
