I am considering building one of these. I know there are a lot of you that have them and do this and I just wanted to see what kind of input you have about doing this.

It's easy. A cheapy can be built for 575 new."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

I shall finish the game, Doc.

I have $650 in mine total... Including a few mags, cheapie red dot, and a few boxes of ammo.
I have it set-up the way I want for Pig Hunting, Ranch Truck Gun, and the ocassional mid- week stress relief at the range.
I have never assembled or dis-assembled a weapon other than very basic cleaning. Saying that, I built a stripped lower, slapped on a complete upper, Complete BCG, and now its party time. It was so easy I think my ol lady could do it.

It will mostly be used for target practice but I want to be able to use it for hunting as well.

My only input is that AR15s don't HAVE to have a red dot on them. I personally have a Nikon Prostaff on mine that I'll upgrade to something better later (cause I'm slowly getting sold on the optics = cost of weapon argument).
Anyway, it just seems like everyone has to have a red dot on their rifle. Just keep in mind that open sights and regular scopes are options too.
Can't remember if it was on here or thf, but there were ~500 dollar Delton kits that would be fine.Originally posted by MR EDDU defend him who use's racial slurs like hes drinking water.

I do want to build my own but I'm not in a huge hurry and would like to do it slowly so I can buy quality parts.
