went to the range today

for the first time and like the in-laws farm much better but it's too far away.
Second time shooting in about 20 years and good to know that I can pass the CHL test, but have a ways to go before I feel capable

Saw some impressive shooting but why are there so many bullet holes in the ceiling??

No doubt. IMO, it was put in there to satisfy some anti-gunners and then the people that created it made it as easy as possible, to which the anti-gunner probably have no idea.

A guy I worked with had me convinced it was hard and that everyone that has one can shoot.

It was not fun. I'm as pro-gun as they come, but I don't think any idiot with a clean background and a pulse should be allowed to carry a gun. I think you should have to prove you can operate a gun, clear a jam, etc. At the very least know basic gun safety, that chick could have killed someone.

I've seen some crazy shit myself.

Black dude shows with two chicks dress for a strip club. First thing he does is hold his gun sideways and just unloads down range. I look back at the range officer and he gives me a nod. Told the guy the rules. Guy complies. Next thing you know..... Pow......high pitch squeal...... Two Rounds bounce off the wall and floor. Right then I pack my shit and proceed to leave.

As I pass the three the range officer is asking them to pack up and leave. Guy starts to protest but I didn't stick around to see how it would end.

The other time was at an outdoor range and a guy shot a round off into the roof off his booth. He would like point the gun in the air and bring it down to his target to shoot. When he shot he'd then fling his arms up as if it had a huge amount of recoil. Was shooting a g19 go figure. Well he was warn once and when he shot the the ceiling riding the recoil as he explained it, he was also asked to leave.
