it just wasn't what I expected. The trigger was ok, but not great. It just felt really bouncy. The slide release lever is really far forward and you can't reach it with your right thumb. The gun didn't soak recoil as well as the HK and this surprised me because the sphinx was a much heavier gun and the barrel length difference is negligible. The gun was certainly comfortable to hold - but on the frame where your support thumb would rest is just flat aluminum alloy meaning that there is nothing to keep your thumb in place which is a nightmare for sweaty handed folks like myself. The small amount of exposed slide also made it harder to grab. Really all things I would remedy if it weren't a $1k gun - but I expect it to really stand out at that price point.

I would wait until they release the full-size/competition version and then give it another try. I don't know how keen you are on full-size handguns but that may make a difference to you.

Being able to reach a slide release or a mag release when you don't need to can mean hitting them when you don't want to.

Being based on the witness/cz75, the guns are inherently accurate. The small slide is one of the reasons. Most all are the same as far as feel.

I will for sure. I really wanted to like the sphinx. It is just flat out cool. The compact was a perfect size for my hand and was really comfortable.

Can't you say that a trigger is the same way? The solution is to just stay off of it - not to move it where it is hard to reach. Still, it is something that just personally I didn't like. Not a huge problem- you could easily get it with your support thumb- just an preference.

Hmm. Yeah I didn't have any accuracy problems. The internal slide rails are definitely cool and the gun felt super solid. Just wasn't really for me - I shot better and felt way more at home on the VP9. I guess I'll just stick to my polymer/striker fired life lol
