I hear ya, I usually kindly reply back that I'm not interested when they low ball me to much as I'm used to expecting it from anything I put online for sale. I didn't think I was out of line asking for $50 less on a $900 rifle but it seems like he might have based on his slow response but who knows. Especially considering I was willing to meet somewhere close to him to get the deal done quicker.

There are some people out there without scruples.

About 4 weeks ago I drove to Austin to buy an unfired Python. The seller said that they had a letter from Colt authenticating the serial number, the original sales receipt, and factory box. The letter was bogus, the box was not for that gun, the "Original receipt" was a blatant forgery and the finish on the gun looked "off" so I told the seller that I was going to have to pass on the deal. I contacted Colt with the serial number and when they got back with me they said that the gun was not a Python at all. The seller was trying to pass off a Trooper that had a Python barrel put onto it as an unfired late 1960's Python. I contacted the seller with the information and was told to go fuck myself and that it was a real Python no matter what Colt said.

Well I gave this guy another chance this morning. I texted him at 8am and he replied back 30 minutes later. He asked what my schedule was like and I hit him back right away with the 1 hour window I'd like to meet as I have some meetings this afternoon. Never heard back from him. 3 hours later I head into the office and text him back saying I appreciated his time and that I was no longer interested. He text me back fairly quickly apologizing that he's been really busy and he's sorry he couldn't respond back in a timely manner.

What gets me is that I offered to go pick it up from him if he would knock off $50 for my time and trouble and that's when he said he'd have to think about it. Oh well, guess I'm going to buy a gun safe sooner than later.

Ya it doesn't get much smoother than the transaction that I had with you and is ideally the way I wish everything I bought and sold online went. Almost glad it didn't work out as I was having a little bit of trouble stomaching buying a ".22" for that much money. Guess I'm buying some goodies for my 10/22
