I use a DMT Dia-Sharp bench stone to sharpen my carry knives and a DMT Diamond steel on the kitchen knives. I swear by DMT.

I have had the Work Sharp for a little over a year and love it. The edge won't be as good as an expert with stones, but who knows if I could ever get to that skill level anyways. I can sharpen every knife I own, including kitchen stuff and scissors, in less than an hour. Touch up on my carry knife take a couple of minutes max.
Edit - Plus, I use it on other tools as well. Primarily axes / hatchets and shovels.
