Wharz load data? You can accomplish this on any frame, if you are crazy or sloppy with reloads.

You can always buy the full frame Witnesses and do a caliber conversion. They aren't priced bad at all.

I keep planning on converting my full size .40, but I'm lazy and

I have never seen any evidence of any of that. Always hear say and rumors from some third party. There was a cosmetic issue with prototypes with the slide stop hole, which is a common issue with any high round count series 70 1911 in any caliber, but it's simply cosmetic. Colt just cut the bridge off to make a slot.

Lots of gossip but never any pictures. I own a first year and run delta. It has the frame slot. I've seen first year guns in the first 100 built and they were slotted as well. Shotgun news had a great article in the mid 90s about the myth of the cracked frame deltas. The rumor never dies, but one of the colt gunsmiths stated since the de is a series 80, they are all slotted. He knew a handful of non slotted guns were built only for testing, and believes none were sold to the public. It was common for people to install barrels and springs (and sometimes slides) on series 70's to convert their gun to a delta, which is the theory for some of these claims. I saw one of these guns at the market hall gun show. But I have yet to see a delta with the closed bridge slide stop recess that apparently would cause these cosmetic issues and I've been looking for years. I would buy one if I could find it.

I'll buy that. Cheap gun to hunt with.

LOL, I knew you would have a comment on it...

Will probably be in the $600 range like the 41....

Right now my only 10mm is a G20. I'm looking to diversify my holdings..... I'm looking at a G29 and an RIA tactical 10mm right now. Apparently the supply of Wesson 10mms is super slim right now. The only offering on gunbroker is too high IMO. I will probably get the STI 10mm in November / December for happy birthday to me next year.

I'm still thinking on the DE. I love my Colt 1911s, but seeing photos of 10mm rounds chambered in the Colt barrel vs. ramped barrels is disconcerting. 45ACP and 38 super rounds are much lower pressure than the real 10mm loads.

I didn't find any photos of messed up DEs but I did see photos of bulged brass that came out of one. It was due to shortened hand loads and overpressure though. It wasn't a gun issue. I'd still prefer to have a fully supported round so I'd rather have an STI or Wesson 1911 in 10mm than a DE especially since all 3 are over 1K.

Even the RIA 10mm has a ramped barrel with more support, and RIAs are cheap.

So I can see an RIA 10mm, a G29, a P220/7 in 10mm and an STI 10mm all in my future. Then I will have lots of 10mm bang bang options. My wife shoots 9mm and 38 super, and I shoot all of the above plus 45 ACP.

I just figure if the apocalypse comes or I'm out hog hunting, I'd rather have a 10mm sidearm. I don't want to shoot at wild boars with lesser rounds.

Honestly, the legitimate contenders chambered in 10mm are small enough that you could just get one of each, and weed out the herd later. What would be the worst thing about that? Ending up with multiple pistols you like, in a caliber you like?

Lol you read too much, half of what you seem concerned with is a non issue. But get what you want to, it's your money.

That's half the price of most quality 10mms. G20's are strong. I had a G20 with a 7" barrel but couldn't get it to shoot for shit with a kkm barrel.

It is the option with by far the most case support.
