The military were required to remove all weapons and munitions from vehicles when turned in for dispatch. A particular general's psd was terrible about sanatizing their trucks like their own rules required. Afghan finds it in the front seat and walked it into the office. He meant zero malice and when I interviewed him later he says "the pin was in it" and just didn't understand what the fuss was. Poor guy couldn't grasp that no one trusted him. The maintenance manager said he felt a mild heart attack when he looked and saw Nazam setting that cold steel ball on his desk like "tada!"
I know I am probably showing some ignorance, but if the pin was in it, what's the problem? What should have been done?

And to be clear, I ask purely out of curiosity. I handled exactly one live grenade when I was in. Well, frag anyways.. Handled plenty of smoke and a few CS.

As an Afghan on a military base they mostly have zero privileges and must be escorted at all times. At least the majority of the ones employed by my former employer. 99.99% of Afghans were not allowed to be armed on our bases. Hell 99% of the ones that worked for us were not vetted for cell phones, digital media storage devices, cameras, maps, weapons of any sort. So one carrying a grenade poses an elevated risk.

We did have an Afghan tell on his buddies that were hiding 2 m67 frags in their break/cleaning area in a chow hall. CID and a few others climbed deep into that incident and a few Afghan employees disappeared forever.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Ah, I see. That makes sense. Did the driver get busted for leaving it in the vehicle in the first place (giving access to the Afghan)?

That same unit was leaving loaded MP5s in the back of their Suburbans too thinking they would be fine there since it wasn't the front seat. The grenade in the truck incident got turned over to the MPs to handle. So I am not sure what happened to the troops.

Never had any issues in public carrying mine, but it has slipped out of my hand and bounced off the floor walking through the house a few times.
Imprisoned inside this mind, hiding behind the empty smiles.....

My LCP fell out at the state fair while sitting in the new cars, I got my foot on it ASAP and I don't think anyone saw it, I was pretty embarrassed. Good thing I wasn't carrying my .44 Mag that day

I was just thinking, it wouldn't take much to be from safe to dead with an Afghan holding a grenade in front of me like that. Just thinking out loud...

I would hope you would carry the .44 Mag in a holster at least.

Sorry but I still don't get pocket carry of pistols. Even pocket size pistols I would carry it in some sort of pocket holster so that it's not moving around and that nothing gets caught in the trigger guard (although I would assume that pocket carry means not carrying anything else in said pocket).

                    .44 Mag was a joke
I can carry my LCP in my work slacks w/o issue, I like it quite a bit. My pocket holster covers the trigger but it fell out of the holster, I was wearing windpants like a dumbass.
