  • Embarrassing conceal carry stories

Anybody have one? Can't say I ever had until today. While leaving the first showing of American Sniper this morning at a surprisingly crowded North Park mall, I managed to make it out of the theater and just walked off the escalator when I heard (and felt) something hit the ground with a loud thud. I looked down to see my spare 1911 magazine laying on the ground by my foot. No idea how it slipped out of my mag carrier but I was like "OH SHIT!" and I heard someone nearby say "Hey you dropped something. Oh.... it's a gun magazine". I picked it up, slid it back into my mag carrier and continued walking out.

No idea how that happened other than thinking it must have somehow worked it's way loose while I was moving around my seat in the theater. I always make in effort to make sure my gun is secured after leaving a movie and making sure I have everything in my pockets (keys, wallet, flashlight, knife) but had never given much thought to make sure my spare magazine is secure. That won't happen again.

uhh, there was the time I walked into the bank with my pistol on me...

I realized it right about the time I started talking to the teller. I don't think I went ghost white, but I just said something like "oops, I forgot my wallet. I'll be right back"

    that coulda gotten ugly

Why? You can carry in a bank.

Ya that shouldn't have been a problem. Now I've done it other places that they aren't allowed but that's the risk I knowingly take; breaking the law.

I nearly walked through a metal detector at the courthouse with my carry in my back pocket. Luckily I remembered before it was too late.

My dad forgot to put his pocket knife in his checked luggage when we were coming home from Ireland. He was like "fuck it, I'm old. if they catch it, I'll just play dumb and they can have it."

He made it home just fine with it in his pocket LOL

Maybe a couple! Walking into the airport with my mom when I was a kid, I asked her where her gun was. She was like, oh shit, and took it back out to the car. One night I was on my HD and a guy cut me off for no reason. Somehow at the next light I was next to him. He kind of eye fucked me, so I goosed the HD taking off a bit. I looked over at him, with kind of a Clint Eastwood squint, and he just randomly hits the breaks and slows down then turns off. When I got to the next light I looked down and my shit had slid out of my pocket with the grip hanging out very clearly. More then once, one has bounced out of my pocket onto something like the ground next to my car etc. I was in the bank one time, not remembering I had my buddies .45 carry VS my usual pocket gun. I looked down and thought "oh shit" as the entire back and grip was sticking out of my cargo pants. I just kept my hand over the grip and in my pocket. My old department use to have holsters with snaps. I have seen many a Sig bouncing along the pavement during a foot chase or fight. Saw one go into a fresh foot of lime one time with an epic splash, or whatever that white shit is when they build highways.

Oh yeah, we had a guy go to a class in another city one time. He hung his gun on the hook in the bathroom while he was on the shitter. Well he reached up to grab it and fired a round right through the second floor of their department. We never did figure out the reasoning behind that.

I lost 4 very expensive Blackhawks thus way.

They were extra wedding gifts for father in law etc that I didn't hand out. When my buddy packed up my groomsmen room, he tossed them in my small backpack. The next morning we were hung over and extremely late for our flight out of town. That small bag was our carryon. You would have thought I had a bomb in the bag. Almost missed our flight which would have made us miss our cruise. I didn't even have time to get them checked in. Fucking tsa agents got 4 bnib blades.

CCW? I had my LCP and holster ride up high enough in church last Sunday that I am shocked it didn't fall out.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

                        Bathroom pop!

I can't tell how many times in 8 years I dealt with firearms left around base in porta-jons, bathroom stalls, hanging at a wash rack, leaned in the corner of a public room, etc. Mostly M9 pistols, a dozen or more M4s, and a few Sigs. Then there were the monthly NDs from some dumb Joe or Jane.

We had an employee at one of our stores leave his gun in the bathroom while he was doing his business. He went back a couple of minutes later and it was gone. Never did find out who snagged it, but he ended up in deep shit since he shouldn't have had it on him while working. Can't blame the guy, the store had had an armed robbery not long before it happened. IIRC he got fired.

Some here have heard this one...

Went to play golf and had my .380 Taurus in its wallet holster in my back pocket. It's pretty comfy, I was on the 5th tee box before I realized it was still there. Whatever, it wasn't bugging me so I left it.

During the round, I guess from sliding along the golf cart seat, squatting to read putts and stretching the fabric while swinging, the corner of the holster managed to cut through the cheap thin pocket material in my golf shorts. You guessed it. I was crouched down lining up a putt and as I got set, I felt a *pop* sensation. By this point I had again forgotten it was there. I stood up and the holstered gun fell out of the newly created hole in my shorts and clunked onto the green. Myself and my 3 new playing partners (who I just met on the 1st tee box) stared in silence for a few seconds. I apologized, picked it up and put it into my front right pocket. One of the guys had previously told us how he was a recent Republican transplant from New York. He laughed and said, "You have a license for that, huh? Goddamn I love this state!" and we all got a laugh out of it.

                            I missed my birdie putt.

I was helping a girlfriend of mine car shop and while in the dealership, she leaned up against me, felt my pistol, jumped back, grabbed it and damn near screamed, why do you have a gun!

Unrelated to CC, I was fooling around with a girl back in college. She asked if I had perfection, I said sure, it's in the nightstand. She pulled out my Browning High Power and said, that's not what I meant.
