  • Suggestions for AR15 Soft Case?

So the new AR I bought didn't come with any sort of storage case and I am now looking for something to store it in on trips to the range and for times in between. I've got some ideas already of what I want to get but I'm looking for other suggestions in case I've missed something. I am preferably looking for something that stores everything internally like mag pouches and maybe has back pack and/or should straps on it but doesn't scream "tacticool". And as much as I like a good hard case, I really want a soft case that won't beat up the trunk of my car to much and won't slide around.

I've got the Midway USA softcase and have been very happy with it, but it has mag pouches on the outside:

I'd imagine their discreet soft case is the same quality:

I've got several AMS cases in different lengths, all the pockets are on the inside and just looks like a square case on the outside. I've had one for 10yrs and haven't had any tears or zipper issues.

They make a nice pistol case as well

I have a voodoo tactical that I picked up at a good price somewhere. All-in-all they have some variation in quality from one variation to another - but will do the trick for most folks.

Voodoo makes a really good bag. Try Amazon. 89 bucks.

            or Draco.

So I finally found the soft case I had been trying to remember for some time now... only to find out that the company has gone out of business. So I remember hearing about the Waller & Son's rifle cases a few years back in an ad in some gun rag. I like the fact that all of the pockets were internal and the zipper was lockable (I believe it was TSA approved as well). Anyway I'm deciding between Voodoo Tactical (cheaper) and a Galati International (more expensive) drag bag.

I like that discrete soft case. I may pick one of those up for my AR pistol

                  I like my 5.11 case.

Got it in the cheap from lapolicegear on closeout.
                  36 bucks.

I got one from academy today that was on sale for $19.99. It does everything I need it to.

I dig it. Get on their email-list. They send deals out every so often (% off, etc.)

That's exactly what I've been looking for! Thanks Craig. Ya it ain't cheap but it's exactly what I'm looking for. (Somewhat) Discreet and has backpack straps.

I'm on their list as well but guess I haven't seen one of those deals yet. I'll have to keep a better out for one.

So I was all set to buy the 5.11 case when I stumbled across the following. It's about the same style as the 5.11 but it offers a lot more bang for the buck with a cheaper price ($65) and more storage with the ability to carry two rifles as well as the pistol pocket and holster. Ordering it right now.

Covert carry bags for long guns seem to be one of the areas for which many companies are now making products. In recent months, I’ve seen Comp-Tac, BLACKHAWK!and UTG all putting out low profile bags. The Alpha Battle Carrier (ABC) sling pack is one such bag.
