Anyone do this? I wanna give this a shot. Seems fun and competitive.

I had a co-worker who did it competetively. Though, I can't really offer any insight, so free post

Evil Roy is one of my customers, and he does training classes down here in Dublin. Let me know if you want me to put you in touch with him.

EDIT: He came in the store today. He says you should register for a class.

My boys and I shoot NCOWS events. I have some vids of us in the Gallery. We have a great time dressing in the pre 1900 clothing and shooting our reproduction guns. SASS didn't really appeal to me because the targets are closer and it's all about speed not necessarily accuracy. I say go to an NCOWS and a SASS match to see which one you like more. I was drawn to NCOWS because of the laid back atomsphere, and the more historically accurate dress and firearms. You don't see too many guns with "race gun" action jobs. Plus we shoot with some great folks up in Greenville at Jacob's Plain Gun Club.

I might have, but there are like 10 people with Jack in their alias.

He is a big older guy, round glasses, and a ponytail (gray hair). He shoots with his wife Mary. I've never been out there despite living 10-15 min away

I would imagine the anti Henry would stem from stages that require a reload.

Just about anything pre-1900, or replicas. People use Henry's all the time. You can check out restrictions at www.ncows.org. Also you can go to www.cascity.com they have a forum where you can find more info too. What I have noticed with ncows on firearms if it was readily available back then they allow it. On the ncows.org homepage is a link to downlaod their approved list for firearms.

No problem. It's a lot of fun and the more people that come out the better. I want to try IDPA or something like it next myself.

Agreed. A coworker is heavy in the 3gun matches. I'd love to try either... or all.
