I have an early Marlin Guide gun that I've had zero issues with and a Rossi 92 that's been fine as well. The Marlin is was obviusly built before they were bought out so I can speak to the quality issues they are having currently. I know that some of the older "micro goove" Marlins shoot terrible but my father got lucky with his and it shoots pretty well. The Rossi is 24" octagonal barrel with case hardening on the receiver and is a shooter! The chamber is sloppy as hell though. There is a buldge in every cartridge after being fired, so much so that the won't rechamber. This is a pretty common problem from what I've read. Some come with sloppy chambers and some don't. I wasn't happy about it at all when I first discovered it but it shoots so dang good I can't compalin. I do wish the wood was nicer though. Mine is as plain as plain can be. I've seen some though that have much nicer wood. Again it's all luck of the draw with Rossi.

Very nice. That in 44mag has been onmy list for quite a while."You don't so much drive it, more like poke it with a sharp stick and channel the fury when you piss it off."
