I'm running out of room in my first safe, its a Winchester Ranger. I want to step up but still on a budget. The Cannon 48 gun safe at Tractor Supply for Black Friday caught my eye for $699. I tried to see what sort of professional reviews (i.e. NOT Guns and Ammo) were out there for it and can't find much. All of the other Cannon safes from other non-"budget" stores seem to have different model numbers which leads me to believe this is either re-branded or a specific build for TSC. It doesn't even look like this model is listed on Cannon's site.
What sort of drawbacks should I expect in a safe like this? The one I would be upgrading from is identical to their one on sale for $550 for Black Friday, just Winchester Ranger branded. Honestly I'd prefer a dial lock over a keypad but I think that may be out of my price range. The safe I have claims it will hold 24 guns, which might be true if I had 24 break action rifles or shotguns, but anything with a scope or bolt handle drops that number drastically. I had eyed the Franklin safes but one with the space comparable to the Cannon is more than 3x the price. What does that really buy me?
